SAID dal 1923 – Hot Chocolate in London

A few weeks ago we took Freddie to London and I knew I wanted to get to Said dal 1923 to try one of their amazing Hot Chocolates. The thickest and richest Hot Chocolate in London, made with melted chocolate and not cocoa powder – yes please. We have tried and failed to get there twice in our last two visits, so it was high up on the agenda this time! After getting into London we headed to the Rathbone place shop as this was really near to where we were staying. It was just as I imagined it, a traditional looking gorgeous little coffee shop in the most perfect…

  • (Ad) YHA London Oxford Street – At the centre of the action

One of my favourite places in the world to visit is London. It holds many special memories and I love everything from the the hectic crazy traffic, smell of the dusty busy tube to the huge array of eateries. I just love it and have always wanted to take the boys to explore the delights. I was contacted by YHA to see if I would like to review a stay during December and see what festive sights and scenes I could enjoy. We choose YHA Oxford street due to its central location and the perfect base to explore from as it’s located perfectly within tube zones 1 & 2. I’ve…

  • Pumpkin picking at Llynclys hall farm shop

It’s already nearly that time of year where the crisp leaves have fallen on the floor, the tights and boots come out and it’s time to get pumpkin picking ready for Halloween. There is nothing quite as fun as going to a pumpkin patch and selecting a pumpkin that’s just right for you and your family. In our local area there are few quite a few pumpkin patches but one that we really loved visiting last year was Llynclys Hill farm shop. The pumpkin display I don’t think can be beaten and they are striking to see. Llynclys Hall farm shop As the name suggests there is a farm and…

  • Our first family trip to Birmingham

This is a collaborative post. Even though we live just about an hour from Birmingham, it’s one of those places that we never really explore even though there are plenty of destination space on our bucket list. I have been itching to take the boys because there is so much for them to see and do outside of our pretty little town. You really are spoilt for choice in Birmingham, a vast array of places to eat, traditional and modern takes on bars, children’s activities and numerous hotels to provide a pit stop for a hard days shopping at the bullring – or maybe even you are travelling a bit…

You can’t help but notice the colour palette if the UK along side the changing months, the yellow of Rapeseed, pastel delphiniums, Red fields of poppies and right now, July & August, is the time to find out a lavender field. Not just for the blue, violet, pale pink and white tones, but the classical relaxing scent of lavender itself. With the help of some fabulous bloggers, I have put together a mini guide of the best lavender fields in the UK. So please let me know if you have one you love and we haven’t added! Morbrook lavender, Underton – Shropshire I have added this because its right on…

  • Flower confetti fields at Wick, Worcestershire

In 2017 I took the boys and my mom to go and see the flower confetti fields at Wick, near Pershore in Worcestershire. I had never heard of them before, it was just a chance of seeing them on Facebook and a moment of “I have to go!” So we did. Dexter was only weeks old and I really love the photos from that day as the flowers just make the photographs really have a special edge. This is one of the reasons that we went back, a year later, to have some more photos! The fields are open again now (June 21st 2019) for another nine days so here…

  • Our £9.50 Norfolk Sun holiday to Caister-on-Sea

Almost annually we go on a Sun holiday and we love them. We have had such great experiences and been to so many different places and at a fraction of the cost and, it becomes a sort of addiction to go again! Now this isn’t an Ad or a sponsored post this is just because I think giving a Sun holiday a chance is one of the best things you can do, especially if you have kiddies and want a quintessential seaside holiday, which I always do as it reminds me of my childhood. This year we decided to go to Norfolk, it was my families go to holiday of…

  • #AD – date night at Bodega Cantina Birmingham

Myself and my husband live in a small town that isn’t too far from Birmingham, yet we have been to London more times than we have been to Birmingham! How does that work? Anyway, the perfect opportunity came for us to go to Brum and try some new food when Bodega Cantina asked us to see what we thought of their new menu. First impressions Walking up the the restaurant and inside was mind blowing, it was totally not what I expected. Vibrant colour, fun decor and amazing lighting filled the high ceiling main strip of the restaurant. There was seating down stairs too and a small waiting area. The…

  • Top 10 tips for UK beach days with kids

We are off to Cornwall this week and because we have been blessed with glorious weather I want to ensure we spend as much time as we can on the beach. So far I have been massively unprepared and brought a UV tent and a fishing net. Slightly eclectic I know, so I headed to the fountain of knowledge from some other bloggers to complie a list of The best UK beach tips. A sheet, with elasticated corners, is ideal to make a area on the beach to keep sand free. If you pop picnic box/other items in the corner, it’ll make an edge that keeps the sheet clean! KatyKicker Wetsuits…
