(AD) #AceWinterRefresh challenge

As much as I hate to admit it, the winter is here and it’s time to pack away my flip flops. I find the transition of summer clothes to my autumn/winter the annual ritual I need, much like putting the clocks back, to get me ready for the colder weather.

Wardrobe weeding

I start with getting mine and the kids summer clothes and packing them in our suitcases, all folded into little piles ready to grace us next year (also praying that we don’t have a fluke warm autumn so I won’t be sweating in my tights and baggy knit!) it’s hard to tear Freddie away from some of his favourite tops so I do tend to leaves few to keep him happy. This also gives me great opportunity to sort though the outgrown clothes and do some “wardrobe weeding” lots of Freddie’s smaller clothes get put away for Dexter. I pack our summer shoes away in an under bed storage box, saying a sad farewell to my flip flops.

Boots, tights and chunky Knits

My husband takes all the summer clothes to the loft and lowers down the suitcases of our winter wardrobe clothes. Thick chunky knits, ribbed tights, hats, gloves and thick coats – the works. It’s amazing how many clothes I forget we have and it’s an easy way of feeling like you have a new wardrobe! What isn’t great though is the musty storage smell of being packed away for 6 months or so. It’s also alarming how quickly the boys grow out of clothes so we end up having a mass try on session to see what bits have made the final cut.

Using Ace for a new lease of life

The most important step is a refreshing wash with Ace for colours Powder. Our winter clothing tends to be autumnal colours, deep purples, moody blues and warming mustards, so I like to ensure they are washed thoroughly but gently to preserve their winter palette. ACE keeps garments bright, robust and clean meaning clothes last for longer even when I use it daily with just 2x tablespoons in with my wash.

Wardrobe wakeup

Once our clothes are washed we have a new, inspired lease of life in our clothes ready for the coldest days all thanks to Ace for colours Powder.
ACE also makes life easy with the never-ending school laundry pile by gently removing stains as well as being recycle friendly as Ace for Colours Powder comes in a fully recyclable Tetra Pak which is plastic free!
