Now as a nurse it’s kind of a given that pens are a chink in your armour. You HAVE to have a pen to survive your day as “if it isn’t written down it didn’t happen” and so a pen is essential. The trouble is when your nurse everybody else on the ward also needs a pen and so frequently your pens go walkabouts and you never get them back!
Now my penchant for pens and stationery didn’t start when I started nursing..it started when I was in office work and the stationary cupboard used to be just round the corner from my desk – a bounty of notepads, pencils, rulers and ballpoint pens everywhere. It was amazing and the total opposite to hunting a pen for down on the ward!
Normally when I have a new notebook I like to keep it preserved and don’t want to write it for ages however seeing as it is Christmas time Freddie has used the first page to write his Christmas letter with me which I thought was a great idea. The Cross bailey pen looks super sophisticated, especially in its presentation box and it’s wonderful and shiny, it’s the perfect Jotter. The paper fo the notebook is really thick and the hand stitched leather is comfortingly soft. You can even buy extra refills to pop in the notepad. It’s beautiful enough to keep as a little memoir book but also has complete usability for an everyday notepad. The Amalfi chocolate leather note pad and Cross bailey pen set retails at £63.90.
The Lamy joy calligraphy pen I chose has a two sized nibs and I choose the thinner one as I’m just starting out in my calligraphy journey it’s very smooth and write with and gives a lovely edge especially this time of year when writing Christmas cards, this is also the pen Freddie used to write his letter to Santa and it looks magical it’s very light weight and sits comfortably in the hand, especially with its ergonomic grip. It comes in a wonderful presentation box and can be gift wrapped too. The Lamy joy retails at £18.46
Have a look what else Pen Heaven has to offer, you won’t be disappointed with quality or fast dispatch time. Will all the typing and time we spend online in this era, it’s nice to take a step back, slow down and remember how to hand write!
