• The return of TechDeck review

Even though I am now 31, one of my most outstanding memories if of secondary school and everyone having a TechDeck mini skateboard! I was pretty useless with mine but one of the boys in my class was permanently attached to his and he was always doing mini stunts on the wooden school desks. As things generally do, Techdecks have now gone full circle and to celebrate their 20th anniversary (blimey) and have been rereleased! I have been sent some for Freddie to have a play with and its so, nostalgic to see! They look so much better than I remember, being featured with designs from prolific skate brands to really…

  • Getting the family car right

I have always, always driven small cars. Even as a community nurse I can stuff fit all my nursing equipment and do my rounds. I work in a very rural area and it’s easy to nip here and there in my little pap pap. I think I have been quite blasé though, thinking that I would always be ok with this. Now our family is bigger, I definitely feel the need to get the family car right. This isn’t just for the extra space but more so the feel of being safer and more protected. I have been using my husband’s car a lot more and where I used to…

  • Sambro Crocodile Diner review

At long last Freddie is now at the perfect age to be able to play a board game and be engaged as well as trying the best he can to keep playing by the rules (most of the time) and take turns. We have been sent Crocodile Diner from Sambro and its an active but easy game for the family to get involved and for the younger ones to enjoy. The game comes with three crocodile snout masks and some little foam fishes. We have actually doubled up the use of this game and Freddie likes to wear one of the masks in the bath and hunt out the fish.…

  • Saving money on a new matress to finish our room

We have recently transformed our bedroom with a mini makeover. What we did was really very minimal, jsut realy a lick  of paint, accessories and soft funishings but it has had a massive impact on making our room a haven that we actually love being in with decor that we love. The finishing touches for us to sort out are a new mattress and at some point give our wardrobes a bit of a makeover as even though I love them they are little dated. Wardrobes aren’t so essential other than to hold clothes, they dont really have any impact on us. The mattress is a different story. I have always had what you…

  • Naipo back and neck massager review

Since having the boys and having difficult pregnancies with SPD and slipping a disc in my lower back – not to mention my very physical job as a rural community nurse, my back, neck and shoulder muscles are a constant source of aches and pains. Sometimes I can manage this with painkillers, of baryibf degrees of stength depending on the severity of the pain that day, other times I use a heat rub. If it’s bad at night I use a heat pad too. However I have found that physical touch on the painful areas is best, especially if it flares up when I’m sitting on the sofa or when…

  • Get Nourished Coffee review

Even before I had children, my morning routine always contained one staple – coffee. Now I have the two boys my mornings are a little more rushed and contain a lot more coffee. It’s a little grasp at a chunk of me time where I can replenish some enegery and take a little breather before the craziness of the day starts – even if it means that most days my coffee is cold! Get Nourished contacted me to see if they could help. Get Nourished When Get Nourished contacted me I was excitied to try their new product – high protein (as much as in a steak!) iced coffees! Lets face…

  • Advice from me, to me..

I can hardly believe I’ve been a mum of two for almost a year now. In lots of ways it’s been a learning curve – difficulties with reflux and a milk allergy early on. On the other hand I have realised how much it pays not to sweat the small stuff. I have definitely sat back and enjoyed not being as stressed as much with Dexter, I mean, I didn’t feel I was with Freddie but looking back, I was. If I could offer some pearls of wisdom for that first time mom me, here would be my five top “don’t stress” tips. Fed is best. Before I had Freddie…

  • Ten things we can’t help but say as a Mum

Today is Mother’s Day, so enjoy your hot cup of tea, eat chocolates and wallow in the bath. Steering away from the mushy stuff, there’s one thing that identifies me as a Mum. I always say the same exasperated phrases when I’m at my wits end. Currently my Mum phrase is “HOW MANY MORE TIMES” which of course is uncountable, like the act being carried out itself. What’s your mum phrase? I asked some other bloggers what they spout out when pushed to the edge of reason and sh*ts about to get very real but that also makes them die inside when they say it.. Kate – Ever after with kids  “You’ll…

  • A little change

So, I’ve had a change and have gone self hosted and just done a mini blog freshen up. Not sure if I’m going to stay with it yet, there’s so many options to explore and faff about with isn’t there! I’m glad I took the plunge even if there were a few teething issues and moments where I was going to slam my head up the nearest wall! In other news, it’s sunday, we have had a baking session of chocolate brownies and there’s a nice plump chicken ready to roast for later. The snow is still around outside so we are all feeling cosy and in hibernation mode. hope…

  • Sniffing out a bargain

I have always, always been an avid bargain hunter. There is nothing better than finding something you wanted cheaper than expected – it feels like a real win! I actually didn’t think I could improve on how often I tried to find the ultimate bargain but now I have the boys I am always on the lookout for something for them. Whether it be an item of clothing that takes my eye, a toy they have been after for a while or even decor for their bedrooms, I find it so so satisfying to get the deal. What’s even better is that now with how amazing the internet is you…
