• Dexters bedroom – monochrome, yellow & mint

The idea for Dexter’s room started long before he was born. I knew that whatever gender baby I had I wanted a colour pallet of mint green, yellow and grey with some monochrome. When we did Freddie’s nursery it was very generic, beige and baby ready but always meant we would have to update when he got older. As it turned out we moved house and so came up with his London themed room anyway, but I didn’t want this with my second babies room. I wanted something with a little more longevity and also a little different.   I’m so pleased with how Dexter’s room has turned out and…

Parents bedroom mini makeover – a space for us

After two and a half years in our house, we decided that our bedroom definitely needed some love! Until  our makeover it had a large dark purple feature wall and nothing really matching. Our stamp wasn’t on it and it never seemed like ‘ours’. We decided to change the feature wall colour, add some focal points and just generally have more soft furnishings to make it our own little haven and somewhere we can relax, as well as enjoying the space we created. We also were lucky enough to be gifted some wonderful items for review to help make our room be a place we adore. Bedroom feature wall The…

  • Different interior design styles

I like to thing of the home as one big blank canvas. It’s there for the taking for you to change, colour and adapt whenever you feel. I love decorating and know I have a cycle of about 15 months where I get anxious to start again. There are so many design style avenues you can go down and it can be a bit daunting. Rattan Direct have put together a helpful guide to Different interior design styles and how you can achieve it. My favourites have got to be Nordic and French Country. I especially love Nordic for children’s rooms with clean crisp white walls and lovely aged floor…

  • Ikea kallax steps hack

As soon as we made Freddie’s London themed bedroom, we wanted to get him into a single sized bed as soon as possible. I had always wanted a cabin or bunk bed when I was younger and so naturally for me I wanted to live my sleepy dreams through him. We found a sleek cabin bed for him with lots of extra matching storage so this was perfect for his ever expanding toy tractors and monster trucks. Freddie loved his new big boy bed but he struggled with coming down the ladders, this was such a worry for me as I didn’t want it to make him regress on his…

  • Freddie’s big boy bedroom!

As soon as we moved house and Freddie got a bigger room, I knew it would be the first room of the house to get a make over. We wanted him to have a scheme that he could enjoy as a little one but also grow into and still be versatile. Our aim was his second birthday and so the hunt began! I found some gorgeous London print wall paper which was my basis for his room, I knew I wanted bold colours for curtains, light shades, chairs and cushions in his room and navy blue and red would fit in perfectly here, especially curtain wise. The wallpaper we chose…
